After closing its doors in March of this year and filing for bankruptcy in April, Klausner Lumber One LLC, based in western Suwannee County, was auctioned off August 21, 2020. The winning bidder, binderholz Group from Fügen, Austria paid $61M to purchase all assets of the company.

Last week, Governor DeSantis announced he applied for a grant for Florida’s participation in the Federal Lost Wages Assistance Program. FEMA Administrator Pete Gaynor announced approval of the grant over the weekend for Florida to receive a FEMA grant under the Lost Wages Assistance program. FEMA’s grant funding will allow Florida to provide $300 per week - on top of their regular unemployment benefit - to those unemployed due to COVID-19.

The Florida Department of Health will conduct NO-COST drive-thru testing for COVID-19.
Testing is available for anyone that wants to get tested; no signs or symptoms needed to be tested. Children can be tested with parental consent.

LAKE CITY – The Lake City-Columbia County Chamber of Commerce and
Nutrien are working with the Richardson Community Center to implement a $5,000 grant given by Nutrien for community gardens.
