Lake City, Fla., – Columbia County launched the Small Business Economic Stabilization Program today. Columbia County allocated $7 million of CARES Act federal funding to be utilized for small business relief grants for Columbia County businesses. Each eligible small business may be awarded up to $20,000 in assistance in the initial round of distributions.

Last week, Governor DeSantis announced he applied for a grant for Florida’s participation in the Federal Lost Wages Assistance Program. FEMA Administrator Pete Gaynor announced approval of the grant over the weekend for Florida to receive a FEMA grant under the Lost Wages Assistance program. FEMA’s grant funding will allow Florida to provide $300 per week - on top of their regular unemployment benefit - to those unemployed due to COVID-19.
