Columbia County Wednesday Morning Update 

Columbia County, Fla., – Columbia County residents should expect the heaviest Storm Elsa impacts between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. today. Rainfall in Columbia County is still estimated to be between 4 to 6 inches and tropical storm force wind gusts (55-60 mph) are anticipated

at various times throughout the day. Some areas may experience locally heavier amounts of rain. We urge Columbia County residents to remain cautious and stay posted for updates and ensure you are prepared.

Government Offices – Currently, the following government offices plan to reopen normal business operations tomorrow, July 8.

Garbage Pick-up – Garbage pick-up will commence when storm-winds are below 30 mph. If citizen’s garbage is not picked up today, it will be picked up on Thursday, July 8.

Shelters – Three shelters will be open until 6:00 p.m. today, July 7. Individuals with special needs will have power supply for medical devices. These shelters are SHELTER ONLY, as no food or beverages will be provided. Shelter locations are as follows:
