To show their support and appreciation for Hamilton County and other local law enforcement, on Saturday, October 10, 2020, Harvest Fellowship Church, in Jasper, held a private luncheon exclusively for members of law enforcement and their families.

“We had representatives from all the law enforcement agencies, even some retired officers attended,” said Harvest Pastor Danny Henderson.

Among those in attendance were members of the Jasper Police Department. They were joined by Hamilton County Deputies and Sheriff J. Harrell Reid. Members of the Florida Highway Patrol along with Florida Fish and Wildlife came by for lunch as well. State Representative Chuck Brannan also stopped by to show his appreciation for law enforcement.

What was on the menu? Homemade barbecued pulled pork, all beef hotdogs, baked beans, cole slaw, and about seven different dessert cakes, enough to satisfy any hungry appetite.

They said approximately forty to fifty members of law enforcement attended. Some came with their families, some were on duty and stopped by during lunch.

“We live in an environment today that is hostile towards law enforcement,” said Henderson. “We wanted to reach out to them and let them know there are a whole lot more people that appreciate them than not.” He added, “In a divided society, as a church, (it’s our duty) to model unity.”

Pastor Henderson, along with his wife, Charlotte, wanted to thank all the volunteers that made the day possible. “We’ve got some of the most amazing people at Harvest.” He commented, “The volunteers did an amazing job. They put it all together. They served and had a lot of fun.”
