Rum Island Park Reopening Monday

(Columbia County, FL) Rum Island Park will reopen Monday at sunrise. The park has undergone a $300,000 riverbank restoration project, as well as the addition of new restroom facilities. Rum Island Park offers access to the Santa Fe River for paddling, swimming, picnicking and fishing.

“I am excited to see the park reopen after its long closure,” said Rocky Ford, District 2 County Commissioner, “we hope everyone can enjoy the rest of summer at this spring.”

New entry fees to enter the park will be implemented in the coming weeks. Columbia County residents can purchase an annual pass for $25 and nonresidents can purchase a pass for $60. The daily fee will be $5 per vehicle.

Two events are scheduled to take place at Rum Island Park in the coming weeks. The Santa Fe River Clean-up Day will take place September 12. Interested volunteers can find more information at The Rum Island Park Grand Reopening Ribbon Cutting is scheduled for September 22 at 9:00 a.m.
