Mayo, Fla., – Pro Bass angler Clay Dyer will be speaking at Lighthouse Christian Center in Mayo, where they will host a FREE community-wide event with Dyer on Saturday, July 20, at 1 p.m. and Sunday, July 21, at 10:30 a.m.
Anyone that has met or listened to Clay Dyer speak will tell you he is an inspiration. Testimonials from his website, clay-dyer.com include former President George W. Bush, who said, “[CLAY’S] SPIRIT in the face of adversity has inspired millions around our nation, including me.” And there are many more!
St. Croix Rod and SEVIIN from Park Falls, Wisconsin published an article on May 20, 2024, about Dyer signing with them to use their rods and reels.
“I’ve had the privilege of knowing Clay for many years,” said Vice President of Marketing Jesse Simpkins, in the article. “There are no combinations of words I can string together that accurately describe everything he is or all he represents to the people he meets, but at the end of the day, Clay makes the people around him better. He just does.”
At Lighthouse Christian Center, Dyer will share much of his life story and how he used his faith in God to overcome the adversity he has faced in life.
He was born in Hamilton, Alabama without any lower limbs, no arm on the left side and a partial arm on the right. However, even at a young age, he refused to let these physical limitations diminish his determination and positive spirit. He began fishing at age five and began tournament fishing at age 15.
He fished with FLW from 2000 to 2010 and began his career with BASS in 2012. Today, Dyer fishes on the Bassmaster Southern Open series and has placed first in approximately 20 state bass tournaments. He uses the same fishing gear as everyone else and makes it happen!
When he’s not fishing, he’s speaking somewhere across the country, motivating others to overcome the difficulties life brings.
Clay’s motto for life is, “If I can, you can.”
Clay, along with his wife, Kim, established Motivational Concepts, Inc. and recently established the Clay Dyer Foundation, a non-profit organization tailored to helping others through the love of Christ.
He does 60+ speaking engagements a year and connects with other hunters, fishermen and outdoorsmen, bringing the message of being an overcomer to people in over 40 states and counting.
Dyer has appeared on ESPN, Fox, CNN Headline News, the Outdoor Channel, Fox Sports South, the 700 Club and CBS.
Published articles about Dyer have appeared in USA Today, Newsweek, Bassmaster, FLW Outdoors Magazine and more.
