Suwannee Valley Unsolved Announces Formation of Victims Advocacy Program

Lake City, FL – Suwannee Valley Unsolved, Inc. (SVU), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting families impacted by unsolved homicides and missing persons cases, today announced the establishment of a formal Victims Advocacy Program.

"We recognize the profound and lasting impact unsolved cases have on families," said Jason Futch, Executive Director of Suwannee Valley Unsolved. "This program represents a significant step forward in our mission to empower these families and advocate for their needs."

Empowering Families Through a Comprehensive Approach

The Victims Advocacy Program will be built upon a foundation of collaboration and inclusivity. "Echoes to Advocacy", the program's exploratory review phase, will involve:

In-depth outreach to families: SVU will actively connect with families affected by unsolved cases to gather their valuable insights and experiences.

Collaboration with regional experts: Law enforcement officials, mental health professionals, and other stakeholders will be invited to contribute their expertise to the program's development.

Formation of a dedicated task force: A task force comprised of community members will be established to guide the program's development based on the gathered information.

Survivor Services: A Path to Healing

The goal of the Victims Advocacy Program is to establish comprehensive Survivor Services. This will include:

Recruitment of a qualified Victims Advocate: A highly trained professional will be hired to oversee the program and serve as a dedicated point of contact for families.

Development of Support Programs: The Victims Advocate will lead the creation of survivor-centered programs and support groups tailored to meet the specific needs of affected families.

Bridging the Gap: The Victims Advocate will act as a vital liaison, fostering communication and collaboration between families and law enforcement agencies.

A Beacon of Hope

Suwannee Valley Unsolved anticipates launching Survivor Services by the end of this year or early next year. "This program has the potential to empower families in their search for answers and justice," said Futch. "We are committed to providing the support and resources they need during this incredibly difficult time."

Suwannee Valley Unsolved will continue to share updates on the development of the Victims Advocacy Program.
