Live Oak, Fla., – Klausner Lumber One, LLC, was a lumber mill in western Suwannee County that closed its doors in March of 2020 and filed bankruptcy the following month. The Austrian based company was ordered last week by U.S. District Judge Allen Winsor, to repay $3M in state incentives. According to the lawsuit, the company failed to cooperate with compliance monitoring and did not provide adequate evidence that it met investment requirements that were set up in 2011.
Following Klausner’s bankruptcy, the sawmill was auctioned off August 21, 2020. The winning bidder, binderholz Group from Fügen, Austria paid $61M to purchase all assets of the company and is in operation today.
