History enthusiasts of all ages are invited to the 33rd Annual Antique Tractor and Engine Show at Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center State Park in White Springs from March 30 - April 1. Visitors will be afforded

the opportunity to put away their cell phones and take a step back in time to a simpler day when one steam or gas powered engine could run anything in your home from a washing machine to a belt-driven saw.

Women canned most of their food themselves, washed their clothes in wringer washers, sewed their own clothes and made their own quilts. Most men of this area spent their days working at a turpentine or lumber mill, tilling the ground on their farm, feeding the livestock, mending fences and putting up hay and other crops for the winter.

With a myriad of antique tractors along with steam and gas-powered engines (most still working today) on display, history enthusiasts will thoroughly appreciate the Antique Tractor and Engine Show at Stephen Foster.

Park Service Specialist Andrea Thomas said they have something new this year, “We are having two events in one on Saturday! We have the Antique Tractor and Engine Show with the Tractor parade (11am) and we will also have an Art in the Park style event; I Heart Art down in the Craft Square. We will have crafters, demonstrators and vendors. We will have the Turpentine exhibit back at the show this year too.”

There are many kids’ games and activities throughout the park as well, so bring your children and grandchildren along to experience the rich history of our past.
