The long awaited Grand Opening of the new Publix, located at 72nd Trace and U.S. Highway 129 North in Live Oak has finally arrived (Live Oak Crossing). Thursday, December 10, 2020, months ahead of schedule, at 7:00 a.m. crowds will gather for the ribbon cutting. The store is not only more than 10,000 square feet larger than the existing Live Oak Publix, located at South Oaks Square on the other end of town, but it is more than a 1,000 square feet larger than the Lake City store, lauding a drive-thru pharmacy.

Chris Norberg, Publix Community Relations Manager, said the 46,798 square-foot facility will have traditional grocery, dairy and frozen food departments along with full-service bakery, deli, pharmacy, seafood, meat and fresh produce departments.

“We are excited to serve our customers with the opening of their brand-new Publix in Live Oak. We look forward to continue providing premier service and quality to this great community,” Norberg said.

The shopping center will also have room for five 1,400 square foot shops located on the north side of the building.

The City of Live Oak set aside and began to develop the 11.5 acre parcel in August of 2016 in order to build a new shopping center that would be conveniently located near the I-10 exchange.
