Paula Vann Appointed to State Tourism Council
Lake City, Fla., – Columbia County Tourist Development Executive Director, Paula Vann, has been selected to serve on VISIT FLORIDA’s Industry Services, Small Business and Rural Development Council. Dan Rowe, Chairman of VISIT FLORIDA’s Board of Directors, appointed Vann.
The Industry Services, Small Business and Rural Development Council is one of four councils that works with VISIT FLORIDA to enhance and maximize industry input toward fulfilling VISIT FLORIDA's commitment to being "industry-led". Committee members are volunteers dedicated to putting the industry above their own interests as they interact with VISIT FLORIDA's staff.
“Tourism is Florida’s largest economic driver and ensuring rural and small communities are part of the VISIT FLORIDA story is paramount,” says Vann. “I am honored to be a part of this team during these challenging times.”
The Industry Services, Small Business and Rural Development Council is tackling three initiatives in 2021.
Evaluate, measure and define how tourism enriches the quality of life in communities.
Increase inclusion and diversity within marketing, industry leadership and industry management.
Increase industry participation in cooperative marketing programs.
VISIT FLORIDA, the state's official tourism marketing corporation, serves as Florida's official source for travel planning to visitors across the globe. VISIT FLORIDA is not a government agency, but rather a not-for-profit corporation created as a public/private partnership by the Florida Legislature in 1996.
