Branford, Fla., – With a great line-up of live music scheduled for the day, catfish dinners, raffles and vendors galore, the 2019 Suwannee River Catfish Festival brought thousands of visitors to Greenway Park in Branford, Florida, April 13, to enjoy their day along the Suwannee River. Visitors enjoyed a variety of live music from bluegrass to country and classic southern rock by the Kentucky Sleepy Hollow Band, Joe Reid and Heartland Band, Ronny McKinley Band, the Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band, Pronounced, and other bands. Sound was provided by Starlight Sound Productions.
One of the event coordinators and owner of IGW Concrete, Halford Harris, said the crowd was even bigger this year with an estimated 6,000 visitors. They sold every catfish dinner they had again this year and plan on preparing for even more for next year.
“Participation by the vendors was great, everybody had a great time. The weather was beautiful. We couldn’t ask for a better festival this time of year,” Harris commented and added they are already looking forward to next year.
Proceeds from the event will award scholarships to local students and help support the Fisher House Charity.
