During a press release today in Jacksonville, beginning Monday, May 18, 2020, Governor DeSantis announced restaurants can operate at 50 percent indoor capacity. Gyms and fitness centers can also open up as well as museums and libraries along with other retail businesses at a 50 percent capacity.
DeSantis said he thinks North East Florida has done a fantastic job, low infection rate, low hospital rate, getting back to work and getting our society working again.
Amusement parks can submit reopening plans to the state. Provide how they are going to accommodate the guests and the staff. Maintain hygiene and social distancing. He encouraged them to put a plan together and submit it to the state. "Let's work and get this going," DeSantis added.
"I want to thank the people of Florida for working very hard over this difficult period of time. I said two weeks ago there is a light at the end of the tunnel, we have a pathway back, and this continues us on that journey. So God bless everyone for all they've done," DeSantis said.
