SVEC UPDATE - Final Steps of Restoration Underway

LIVE OAK, Fla., October 4, 2024 (9:00 a.m.) — As of 8:00 p.m. last night, six and a half days after Hurricane Helene caused extensive damage in North Florida,

SVEC had successfullyrestored electric service to all but about 500 of its over 28,000 consumer-members.

Most remaining outages involve damage to member-owned electrical equipment that must be repaired before service can be safely reconnected. When repairs are complete, homeowners should notify SVEC’s Member Services Department by calling 800-447-4509.

Crews will continue working today and over the weekend to reconnect members who can safely receive power.
